All-Star Relays Got That Boom Boom Boom

After the quick overview of the meet, its time to discuss last night in a little more depth. First topic: MVPs of the meet. With 8 league records broken, choosing an MVP was not an easy decision. There were upsets, come from behind victories, and races won by tenths of a second… but last night, one relay team rewrote the record books in two different events. The Shouse Village 8 & Under girls put on quite a performance en route to two new NVSL records. Two members of their relay, Sinead and Paige, have been coming to All-Star Relays since they were 6 years old. A third member, Sara , was so small when she first came to the meet that she rode to the meet in a car seat. Now teaming up with their fourth member, Heather, these four girls have combined to make quite the relay. Last night, these girls displayed great determination, as well as resilience. These Shouse Village girls earn the MVP of the meet for their two record breaking performances.
Another noteworthy aspect of the meet was Tuckahoe and Fairfax surprising everyone with their 2nd and 4th place finish, respectively. Tuckahoe upset Chesterbrook last night as it snatched up 2nd place by a mere 42 points. Division 4, led by Fairfax, went on to cumulatively outscore Division 3 by 58 points.
Tuckahoe Coach Jesse shares his thoughts on his team’s preformance.
Fairfax Coaches explain how they took 4th.
Not to be ignored, Overlee added another notch to its belt last night with another Relay Carnival win. Congratulations flying fish… or should we say goats?
Overlee Senior Tyler Gehrs tells all about the goat.

Goats are pieces of meat taken advantage of for their milk and body. I guess what overlee is trying to say is that they want people to eat them?

MaryR is right…..although they kinda spilled the beans…..cause,yeaah we totally “WANT PEOPLE 2 EAT US”by the way that theory doesnt reallyy make sense…. are u from CHESTERBROOK??!!!

OH WAIT…yeah it does,sorry…..(heeheee kinda slow 2day & i should read things more carefully)but really,ARE you from chesterbrook?or VAC?or Hamlet?or LRR?OR FX???BASICALLY,r u in division 1?

GOAT stands for Greatest of All Time. Tyler is having you on a bit here. Overlee is trying to beat the Overlee dynasty of 1993-1998. The 90s team won 6 Division 1 Championships in a row. With the victory over Chesterbrook today, the current Overlee team has won 4 triple crown titles in a row.

That’s actually not quite correct–in 2006 Overlee won the Div. 1 championship, but Chesterbrook won the Divisional and All-Star relays. So to get 6 straight triple crowns, Overlee will have to win all three for three more years.

If you read the 3rd sentence of my email, the reference to 90s win streak for Overlee was Division 1 Championships. They need two more Division 1 Championships to equal the 90s team.

Fair enough–I was responding more to your statement about “four triple crown titles in a row” (which is technically not correct, as that would mean division championship plus divisional and all-star relays), but of course you are right that two more division championships would make six, to equal the championships of the 90s team.
