Last Saturday marked the opening of the 2009 NVSL dual meet season.  As with all opening weekends it was filled with excitement as 8 year olds swam their first Saturday morning meet, Seniors began the end of their NVSL careers, and coaches were able to see how their teams would fare against the competition of the day.  The most exciting event last Saturday was easily Janet Hu’s 50 fly.

Janet Hu went a 29.40 in the 13-14 girls 50 fly, breaking a 7 year old record held by Yeng Lan Beller.  This record is just  one record in a laundry list of NVSL records held by Janet Hu.  Aside from NSVL records Janet Hu also holds a few national age group records.   Look for Janet Hu to make another splash in the pool this weekend, the 50 backstroke record should be, as Beyonce sings in her new song Halo, “tumbling down”.
